Disposition

If you don’t have good disposition, it doesn’t matter what else you have. A quiet, friendly spirit with a willing heart is our top priority.

Conformation

Bar None conformation is typical of the old Morgan lines, compact and solid. Our horses don’t give out and they won’t break down.

Color

Because the only thing better than a tough, intelligent horse who learns fast and works hard is one who is also uncommonly pretty.

Gaited Morgan Horses

Bar None proudly offers our own line of gaited Morgan horses as well. The mares have some of the best gaited Morgan bloodlines, many either raised by or carrying the genetics of Mary Mels Morgans in Utah. Others come from the Grunden Morgan Ranch (GRM) in Nebraska. Our standing gaited stallion Mtn Edge Black Chrome is the product of a cross between a GRM sire and a Mary Mels dam.

Our junior gaited stallion Bar Non Hickory has the Westwind Joaquin bloodline from Jellico Farms in Kentucky. We are expecting some fantastic, colorful gaited Morgan foals from Hickory.

From Shoshoni headed north, you’ll drive 18 miles through the Wind River Canyon on US Highway 20. The sign for Bar None Drive is one mile north of the mouth of the Canyon on your right.
From Cody or Worland headed south, come through Thermopolis on Highway 20. You’ll see the Bar None Drive sign about 3.5 miles south of town on your left.

Easy to Train

Pierre’s (S Bar B Pierre Noire) foals all have his wonderfully laid back personality. They are easy to train— a trait that is very important for us amateurs— and eager to please. The buckskin filly Brooke was trained to drive as a 2 year old, and this past summer I just saddled her up and took her out onto the trails. Even though she is really only a green broke saddle horse, she behaves so well that all my Quarter Horse friends are envious!

I can’t say enough about this awesome horse. Without any training or experience we completed the Tatman Mountain Endurance Race in Basin, WY ( 28+ mile course) in 3 hours, 26 minutes with at least six seasoned Arabians in the pack following. We were also awarded the Best Conditioned Horse because she was packing about 50 pounds more than 2nd place. She’s got a heart of gold, feet like iron, and seemingly no bottom end. She also watches a cow, herds goats, packs elk, loves the mountains and gets me to church on Sunday!
